Moin, moin and a hearty welcome

in Büsumer Deichhausen

We are delighted to welcome you to our spa and health resort on the North Sea coast and invite you to be our guests and join us for a relaxing time during your holidays.

There are still little pearls directly on the North Sea, which will make your holiday something really special. Büsumer Deichhausen is one of them: a veritable jewel among the spas and health resorts in Dithmarschen. Barely two kilometres from the North Sea holiday resort of Büsum, you can enjoy a carefree holiday far away from the stress and hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Idyllically located and excellently tended, our little community is a real refuge in the middle of the Wadden Sea National Park and the UNESCO world natural heritage site.

Our Strandhaus is the meeting place for our guests. Here you will find Tourist Information, beach basket hire and the lifeguards' offices, manned every year from the end of June to the beginning of September. In cool weather, you can read your newspaper in the great hall, surf with WLAN in the Internet free of charge or simply enjoy the magnificent views over the North Sea and the mudflats.

Our guided walking tours of the mudflats start behind the house and you will find ample car parking, free of charge, below the Strandhaus.

Take a stroll through our little village and marvel at the pretty little houses and the well-tended plots. No matter whether you are on foot or on a bike, on a tour through the parish and past the fields of rape-seed and cereals you can enjoy the immense expanse of the wide-open spaces.

You just want to relax? Nothing is easier; just recharge for a while in a beach basket – on cool days, you can wrap up in a snug blanket – and you can read a book or simply watch the interplay of the sea between ebb and flow of the tide.

Bathing in the North Sea, walking its shoreline, collecting shellfish or merely watching the birds on the mudflats... the North Sea and the Wadden Sea are unique. Would you like to walk where there is usually water? Learn from an expert guide all about lugworms and so on, plants and the bird world, the interplay between tidal ebb and flow and what you must observe when walking in the UNESCO world natural heritage site.

If you travel with your four-footed friend, you will find many wonderful walking trails in and around Büsumer Deichhausen and surrounded by nature you can walk for hours undisturbed and play with your dog. There is also a marked section of beach where dogs are permitted and in the Wadden Sea. Since the coastal region also belongs to the national park, where the special flora and fauna are protected, please do not forget your dog's lead!

To the left of the main beach, in the direction of Wawerort, is where you will find our doggy beach. Please allow us to remind you at this point to remove any deposits your four-legged friend leaves. Suitable receptacles are available from May to October in the Strandhaus and at the start of the bathing beach and all the year round from the dispensers in Strandweg and on the stairway leading to the beach.
